What is it?
The Wilstockhub is so much more than a community centre. With a range of facilities to support, engage and inspire those that visit the aim is to be the hub of activity for the community.
The Wilstockhub is designed to be flexible in its use and can be used for a wide range of purposes.
The main hall can be used for performing arts classes and shows. As there is also use of a bar/kitchen area, the hall can also serve as a venue to host parties, receptions, social events, meetings, indoor sports, educational space for evening classes, workshops and much more.
The smaller community rooms can be used for clubs, societies, organisations, workshops, classes, as a break-out room for sub groups and for formal or informal meetings.
The larger community room can be used for all of the reasons as the smaller community room but also as an area for a nursery/pre-school.
Outside there is the use of a MUGA (Multiple Use Games Area) and community garden.
The hub will be the centre point for meeting friends and making new ones, a venue where we can meet up to share common interests and make memories.
Where will it be built?
The Wilstockhub will be built on the western edge of Wilstock Village
When will it be ready?
Now that the planning phase has been completed and signed off, we are finalising designs and securing funds.
We anticipate that ground-works will commence at the end of May 2021 and the building should be fully completed later the same year.
The current plans and design stage of the project has been completed and Planning permission has been applied for and agreed we are now busy researching for and applying for funding.
We anticipate that not only will groundworks begin this year but by Christmas 2021 we hope the Wilstockhub will be open for use.
